Hello people.

Ok. So I have a 30GB classic ipod.
A few months ago i installed Rockbox 2.0
Only to play doom really. I soon got bored and deleted it from my Ipod.
ANYWAY
Im listening to my ipod on my new docking station yesterday and it goes off.
the apple logo started up then THIS SCREEN appeared and i cant get it off!!! (below)

Pc wont recognise it now....please tell me i dont have to format 4000 songs (most are backed up but....agghhh)

Plllllleaaaassseee HELP ME!

Follow the instructions it's giving you at the bottom of the screen to get it into disk mode, and then uninstall the bootloader, since you failed to do this before. Once that's done you can reset and you'll be back into Apple's OS.

No need to format anything, no loss of songs involved.

thanks. but ive done that,  the pc recognises it but, i dont know how to uninstall it? theres nothing in the system files to delete

its in disk mode
i can use it on itunes
but when disconected, it goes back to the error screen

I'd be rather interested how you'd install Rockbox 2.0 on the Ipod -- 2.0 has been released several years ago, and the only release that runs on the Ipod is 3.0 ... and Rockbox doesn't run on the Ipod classic (but you definitely don't have an Ipod classic).

I suggest using our official (un)installation instructions, which also include the usage of a nice GUI installer tool ...

The bootloader is version 2.0, this is what appears to have been confusing him with regards to versioning.

manuals are here( http://www.rockbox.org/manual.shtml ) though you can get to this exact page by simply clicking on the manuals link on the left side of this page. :o

find your player and click on the "online" link under it then click on "installation" then click on "uninstalling Rockbox"...  :D

its really that simple.
