« on: October 06, 2008, 06:44:26 PM »
I read the instructions so many times... But i cant put it into UMS mode... I need to uninstall Rockbox, so I can send it in to Sansa. My MP3 Player is an e250r.

Boot the original firmware.  There should be a menu item for USB mode.  If you can't get into the original firmware for some reason then you should try to use Recover Mode to restore the original firmware.

The rhapsody model names the USB modes differently.  Try both of them and see which one presents the sansa as a drive letter.  That's MSC mode.

It's called "Rhapsody".  "Plays-for-Sure" is MTP, as far as I remember.

I'm not sure if the uninstallation instructions for the e200 apply to the e200R.  The installation is different so you would think the uninstall would be as well.  A quick search of the forums seems to indicate that the best way is to put it into recovery mode and reload the original firmware, but it's possible that e200rpatcher has an uninstall feature as well.

See here for more, but be careful:

How am I sposed to boot the original firmware? Rockbox kicks in as soon as I start it up, and If i delete .rockbox in my sansa, it turns off, stateing that I am missing a key or something.

Did not know I needed to holw |<< on startup. Sorry.

New problem... I put it in Play-For-Sure but sansapatcher e200rpatcher cant detect it...

Read the posts above yours.  You can't access the drive in MTP mode, so e200rpatcher won't be able to detect it if you use that mode.

I just want to chime in here and say I personally am not in favour of you doing this just so you can send it back to sansa. That is fraud.

Vipes: Fraud would involve you sending it back and trying to get free repair work done on it.  It is not totally clear to me that this is your intention as I would be a bit surprised that an e250r still has a warranty.

However, I do think it shows a lack of discretion to give this appearance when it's something that is not any of our business.  Uninstalling Rockbox, in and of itself, is a perfectly valid act and we are happy to assist with that.  Telling us that you want to uninstall because you want to send it back to SanDisk involves us in your poor decision-making.

Thanks for pointing this out, GodEater.
