3.0 vs. Daily Build
« on: October 06, 2008, 12:19:42 AM »
With the 3.0 release of Rockbox I am stuck with a question for myself and and others. Will you use the release until the next release, or use daily builds?

I prefer to use the current builds, since they've been stable for me and there have been updates since 3.0 that are rather useful (like the MP3 processing on the coprocessor on PP targets, of which my H10 is one).

If the gap between 3.0 and the next official release is as long as the previous wait, then its probably wise to get hold of a daily build every now and then.  ;)

Of course there are also plenty of custom builds floating around that add lots of features not even in the daily builds...

well if i recall correctly i think they where saying there going to attempt to get a release version about 1 time per 3months or so.

so if that's true or even close to true... overall i would recommend just sticking with a proven build (i.e. stable build) until the next release is out ;)

I still like to keep with the most current build as much as possible, since it's always got the newest stuff (and I like testing out the newest stuff).  Lately I've been compiling my own patched builds with the newest WPS tags to test them out some and see what I can do with them for when and if they make it into SVN.
