Removing filters from the Database Veiw

(1/1)

voxel486:
Hi, I'm a n00b.

I am trying to simplify the layout for the database navigation.
Right now, it says:

artist
album artist
album
genre
composer
track
year
user rating
recently added
A to Z...
History...
Same as Current...
Search...
Custom view...

I'm looking for it to say a lot less, kinda like the database navigation for Sandisks and/or iPod type nav, like

artist
album
track
genre

how can I change the original /.rockbox/tagnavi.config file or the /.rockbox/tagnavi_custom.config file so that it only has these organization functions for the database, and i don't want them in the custom view section, i ONLY want those 4.

and also, i dunno how to get album art to show, do I need the pictures to be in the song files metadata?

I have a Sansa e250, Dreamweaver (if i need to change the .config file), and i rock Win XP.

Thanks in advance

Llorean:
You can open the .config files in a text editor. That combined with the DataBase wiki page should give you enough information to fix it how you like.

voxel486:
i tried doing that, but when i copied the file named "tagnavi_custom.config" and put it on the disk of the Sansa, but then the player wouldn't boot past the RockBox splashscreen.

Llorean:
This shouldn't affect booting at all. Have you tried resetting settings so the database isn't in active yet?

frankhardy:
sounds to me like the eternal booting loop.

did you make sure you deleted the following line from the tagnavi_custom.config?

%include "/.rockbox/tagnavi_custom.config"
