Doom plugin-- intermittent "data abort"
« on: October 03, 2008, 05:57:40 PM »
So I just installed Rockbox on my Sansa E260, and everything seems to work fine so far except for the doom plugin. I followed the directions and created the doom subfolder, and copied the rockdoom.wad and my old doom wads (specifically DOOM1.WAD and DOOM2.WAD) but 90% of the time, whenever I try to play the game it fails with a message that says:

Quote
Data abort
at 01FBCA74 (0).

However, if I keep trying to launch it, eventually it will actually run, but if I exit and then start it again, it will fail.

Anybody know what's going on here?

You just installed Rockbox? Check to see if any of the Voice options are enabled (Settings/System/Voice). If Voice is enabled, Doom will usually not run, due to a bug.
