voice creation problems with Rockbox Utility.
« on: October 03, 2008, 03:11:18 PM »
Hello Folks:

Since the changes made to the Rockbox program for creating voice files and voice clips, SAPI 5 voice file and clip creation has never work well whether using the RockBox utility program (any version) or VoiceBoxPlus.  The problem is that, in many cases, the announcing of file names, as well as options in the menu system are being trunkated. To Give an extreme example: In the root directories of the Iriver h120 and the Sansa E200 series of players, and I expect in the other players as well, the word "record" is pronounced "rec." Other words, such as system, are cut off before they reach their natural conclusion. I've tried quite a few SAPI voices with the same result. The voice file which is automatically generated on the Rockbox site does work well however, the speech quality is, at least for me, a problem.  In any case, that doesn't address the same problem that I am having in the creation of sound clips for file names.  Any help would be appreciated all over the place.
