harddisk problem on ipod 5G

whyou:
I'm using an ipod 5G 30GB,these days its battery runs off very fast and I found that its harddisk runs all the time.But I'm just playing some songs that small than 3MB.I what to know how to make it normal.
Sorry for my poor english.I should study it hard :-X
