My sansa's Deleting itself? My files are disappearing mysteriously...
cameron_15:
hey guys,
I installed rock box on my sansa e280 about a week ago and everything was going fine and it was awesome! however, I plugged it in to my computer to charge it up and when i unplugged it and went to use it on the plane on the way home half my songs were missing. I plugged it in to find out where they had gone and found no music files in the MUSIC folder. i pressed back on windows explorer to go back to the directory folder and there was nothing.
I right clicked on the sansa and clicked properties. It says it had 0 bytes free space and 0 bytes used space with a total of o bytes available.
i thought that was strange because i had just seen all the folders and stuff there...
If it means anything I was searching the player in explorer to find the MUSIC folder as it is hidden by the sansa. I found it, there was no music, then i pressed back and there was nothing.
anyone got any ideas. Should I Reformat the sansa and reinstall rockbox and put my music back on?
cheers
Edit, i just safely removed my sansa and it still says writing on the screen but the player doesn't appear on windows explorer.

Run scandisk to check the flash drive for errors.

Checked for errors, It thinks there is nothing to check for errors. ???
I unplugged the sansa and it still had some songs on it, all the songs on the card appear fine. It plays what there and when i look at the info it says there is roughly 240MB free which is right but I can't see all the songs. When i try to load the database on rockbox it gets to 487 and then stops and doesn't do anything.

this means that it does nothing. It just flashes and then the bar goes away.
It's weird, Rock box can see some folders on it but windows can not.
I think I'll have to un-install rockbox then format the player from recovery mode. put the music back on and then re-install rockbox.
