Question on iPod Classic with Rockbox

(1/3) > >>

wesderby:
Hi...Been a while since I've posted.  I'm finding my 30GB iPod isn't enough to hold all my music, and even though the new Nanos have speech capabilities, they're obviously not big enough either.  I saw that Circuit City, through their website, has the 160GB "iPod Classic" in their outlet center now that new iPods have been released.  Unfortunately, they, nor Apple, lists which "generation" of iPod Classic the 160GB model is...Does that fall into the first through 3Rd gen versions with Rockbox is compatible?  I don't want to buy it and find out I can't use it with Rockbox.  If it is compatible, has anyone had experience using such a high-capacity player with RB?  Any info you can share is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Wes

Chronon:
Classic == 6th generation.

There are pictures of each supported model on the current build and releases pages.

karashata:
The iPod Classic isn't supported... yet.  Though it doesn't look like it ever will be either, so...

More info can be found here.

Thanks...Unfortunately, being blind, those pictures don't help me too much. :-)  I think I misread what was supported in the Release notes, so I apologize.  I'm going after an 80GB iPod on eBay, so we'll see what happens there; looks to be the highest-capacity player Rockbox supports from what I can tell.

Chronon:
Make sure it's not a classic -- those come in an 80GB size too.  Rockbox supports only the specific models listed on the main page.
