Rockbox Development > Starting Development and Compiling

first time to colinux, SVN help

(1/1)

jimbob:
Attempting my first build, I am following the simpleguidetocompiling guide and the colinuxdevelopment guide.  Using colinux, I am able to log in as user rockdev with password rb, but am unable to use the command getsvn.  Typing in the full address doesn't help either.  I get the error unknown hostname 'svn.rockbox.org'  I also tried downloading the daily build and extracting it to the colinux\.rockbox folder but don't know how to cd to my C:\ drive from the colinux console.  Checking dir only returns tmp, which has a bunch of assorted what looks like aliases in it.  Not that great with linux, but assume one of them is a label for my drive.  Anyways, any help appreciated.

The command is svn co svn://svn.rockbox.org/rockbox/trunk rockbox according to that wiki page.  Did you use that?

If so, do you have internet access?

jimbob:
yup, and yup.  although i am wireless.

soap:
It sounds like you do not have (at least) DNS resolution from within your CoLinix distribution.
Can you ping google.com?
Can you ping 72.14.207.99?

GodEater:
...and just in case it's not obvious, soap obviously means for you to do this from within your colinux environnment, not your usual windows one.
