Iaudio X5(L): Charging - USB and AC
« on: September 29, 2008, 05:07:25 PM »
Hi!

I wondered if it was possible to controll the charging process in general and whether Rockbox is capable of this feat. What I mean is that the original firmware allows me to choose if it should charge via USB or not. When I attach the AC-adapter it does charge, without any choice for me.

Do I have the same options with Rockbox? So, is it possible to connect the player via USB and *not* charge the batteries? I read through the manual but found nothing about charging. Then some older threads here (http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=12123.0 & http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=10346.0) imply that you've to actually start the USB-charging, but they're rather old so maybe there was a change. Furthermore is there a possibility to run the device on AC and bypass (that is *not* charge) the batteries? Can the latter be done at all or is this procedure handled by the HW alone?

Cheers!
