Complete Installation Problem
(1/1)
sgtgrumbles:
I tried to use the Mac OS X Rockbox Utility to install Rockbox 3.0 on my iPod 5G 60GB. Before doing this I converted my iPod to the FAT32 file system.
Autodetect did not work. I received a dialogue box that said "Could not detect a Mountpoint. Select your Mountpoint manually." So, I used the file browser to select the path to the iPod, and I selected Ipod Video (5th Gen) 60/80GB from the list.
I chose the "Complete Installation" option from the Quick Start menu. The installation runs fine up until it reaches "Theme Installation" at which point I receive a message that reads "Theme Site is being reworked. You need to install themes manually until this is finished." I assume that the theme installation is a nonessential part of the install process, so I am not particularly worried about this.
After ejecting the iPod it automatically reboots and I receive the following message on the iPod screen.
"Loading Rockbox...
Error!
Can't load rockbox.ipod:
File not found"
When I look inside the .rockbox directory in my iPod it appears to be empty. I do not know why this is.
What should I do from here?

I don't know anything about rbutil, but you can just download a .rockbox directory and put it on your ipod and it will work.

Quoting the Rockbox Utility wiki page:
--- Quote ---(os x) Complete / Small Install is not working correctly for Sansa / Apple players: bootloader installation unmounts the player (required), but the build gets installed before the system can remount the player. You need to use the separate installs from the "Installation" tab for now.
--- End quote ---
(oh, and another quote: "If you have any problems, please read the changelog and issues list on the development page page before reporting any bugs!")
Put the Ipod into disc mode and do what the note on the wiki page tells ...
