Ipod Mini Gen1 frozen

Hello i recently installed rockbox using the utility and a small install on an ipod mini gen1 player.  It worked fine for about a minute but when i pluged it back into the computer it got stuck on the screen where it is showing a charger getting pluged into a wall outlet and hasent been off it since.
It has that icon:
--when pluged in
--when on battery
--after using select + menu to reset

it also does not show up on either vista x32 or osx10.5

any help or suggestions would be appreciated
