Rockbox install on blank unit

i just bought a Gigabeat from someone with no OS at all, what steps do i need to take inorder to install rockbox?

it is a MEG-F40S

You could either try to install the original firmware first (take a look at the manufacturers site) , and then use rbutil on it.
Or you could use the dummy GBSYSTEM files you can get on this site: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GigabeatFXPort#Improved_Boot_Time_Optional and put the Rockbox os files on it. (Then dual-boot doesnt work, only rockbox is installed).

Dual-boot doesn't currently work on the gigabeat F/X.
