Which music formats are supported for Archos Recorder V1?

ronfein:
After install of v3 Archos is not playing (DRM-free) WMA files?
I read
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/ReleaseNotes30
and
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SoundCodecs
There is no restriction of SWCODEC and no description how to install SWCODEC. Therefore I supposed there is no need to install anything else besides the v3 and with my Archos Recorder v1 too.

Any hints?
TIA, Ron.

AlexP:
The Archos recorder cannot use SWCODEC - this means software codec and releies on the CPU to do all the decoding.  The Archos recorder has far too slow a CPU for this, and instead relies on additional hardware (HWCODEC) to do the decoding.  This is only capable of playing MP3 (and WAV via a plugin).

Thanks for the answer. Of course I wanted to hear another answer. ;) However, if Archos isn't capable playing another formats then any hint would be helpful. There are contradictonary statements at all at least in documentation "The Rock Box Manual" chapter "E.1.3 New codecs supported".

Nevertheless I'm happy to use Rockbox on my Archos. It rocks.  ;D

Could you link me to this?  I can't find it in either the FM recorder or the recorder V1 or the recorder V2 manual.
