so i installed rockbox and then it worked. I then proceeded to unplug my ipod and i went into some directory....i was in the rockbox directory and i clicked something and  it said something about wiping it out. and then it asked me to close rockbox and turn it back on. so after i closed it and tried to restart it it died.before that it was humming awhile. now my ipod wont open .now when i plug it into usb it doesnt even get recognized at all. soooooooooo am i screwed or what?!

Llorean:
Rockbox doesn't give any messages about "wiping", nor does it make an iPod hum.

Please try to describe exactly what happened. If your iPod made a humming noise, it might be some sort of hardware failure. If it's a software thing (the most you can do from Rockbox would be deleting Rockbox) you can still restart the iPod by holding Menu+Select and then get into disk mode.

oh my god. it works again. that's alot!!!!! man now im gonna read the instructions more clearly

AlexP:
I have changed the title to reflect the fact that your ipod isn't in any way bricked.  Please don't throw that around unless it actually is.
