You dont' have rockbox installed, just the bootloader.

Hold menu+select and then select+play for disk mode.  Once its in the apple disk mode, install rockbox normally as per the instructions in the manual.

Kay this is what I did

download the latest build. Downloaded, the ipodpatcher thing, press i and enter, then enter to exit, rockbox worked, I changed the skin by removing the whole rockbox folder, and adding that folder, now I get that notice. I tried the menu+select thing, it turns it off then back on then I tried the select+play and nothing happens.

okay please help, its not even turning off now.

the .rockbox structure inside themes is not a replacement for your existing .rockbox structure - it is supposed to be extracted over the top of it (say "yes" to overwrite existing files).

As soon as it reboots, you need to be holding SELECT+PLAY.  Hold the buttons down only with the normal amount of force you would use, don't hold them down unnecessarily hard.

Before holding MENU+SELECT, flick the HOLD switch on and then off again.

Why didn't you use Rockbox Utility for installing? It makes things much easier and less error prone (besides it's the recommended install method)

I have changed the title to reflect the fact that your ipod isn't in any way bricked.  Please don't throw that around unless it actually is.

I'm guessing because it doesn't install themes at the moment...

Those instructions are for the iPod, not your computer.
