battery dying on a 5g

<< < (4/4)

Llorean:
Unless the battery dies completely, so that when you plug in power it boots up, unfrozen, right?

joust:
its not frozen but very dead.
I plug it in and it does nothign for a while then I get a message the battery is extremely low. it charges for a couple minutes then starts up and connects to the PC. But I think it starts up ok.

edit:
this morning the ipod has an almost full battery so the unit seems to be working properly and the battery is ok.

Mebus:
Hey !

I have the same problem here:

If I boot Rockbox (r18607-3.0-080923) on my iPod Video 60 GB and then shut it down and leave the iPod in that state for about 10 hours, I can't switch the iPod back on, if I don't charge it before.

If I boot the Apple OS and switch the iPod off in Apple OS, it's possible to switch it back on after 10 hours, the next morning.

I think that this is a heavy bug in Rockbox and will most probably destroy my battery after some time.

Is there anything I can do to help fixing it ?

Mebus
