Can I record more than 3 hours with Sansa C240 memory allow
Yellow101:
I am new to RockBox and this forum. I just bought the Sansa C240 and found that this is a good little machine. However the OEM firmware allows only a maximum of 2 hours for each recording, barely enough for one meeting. Does using RockBox will change this to unlimited length as long a I have enough memory? 4 hours would be good.
Thanks

Recording length is only limited by available storage space

Add to the above you can:
- record directly as mp3 (and can choose the bitrate), or WavPack for lossless compression
- set an own recording directory, which can be on the microSD(HC) card...
So there's lots of long meetings you could record, maybe have a look into the Rockbox manual for your player. Be aware though that Rockbox only works on the v1 range of the c200 models and if you just bought the c200, then there is a not so small chance you have a v2 one. The safest way to tell is to look at the version number of the original firmware - version 1.xx.xx is a "v1" and version v3.xx.xx would be a "v2" model.

Thank you very much.
My C200 is a V1 and I installed Rockbox V3 and found out that I can record more than 4 hours with mp3 format at 128 bit rate. The file is over 100 MB and took the C200 almost a minute to save.
I am still working on how to save all recording files to my micro SD.
