c200 - main partition dissapeared!
sharkovich:
Hello!
After installing Rockbox on my c240 everything was fine. Until i put my just-bought 4gb microSDHC into the device, it stopped responding for about 5 minutes. Then i put the battery off. On next boot i got a message saying some thing like:
Rockbox bootloader (number)
Sansa e200 or c200
Main partition not found.
There was no way to boot it with normal firmware, nor any way to get to it by USB cable. So i tried some steps in unbricking guide somewhere on this page. Now i can boot it up, but it says i have something about 800TB's of free space, and when i connect it to PC it says "drive not found". I put 128mb microSD just to check and it was in explorer on the first partition (like the built-in memory), it should be on the second (which says "drive not found"). I need help. Anybody got some ideas?
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
LambdaCalculus:
Sounds like you may have a corrupted filesystem. Run chkdsk /f on the volume.
sharkovich:
Thanks for fast reply.
Actually i have it as h:\ if it matters.
So when i type chkdsk h:\ in cmd it says "Cannot open volume for direct access"
AlexP:
/f is a switch, not the drive letter. The correct command for you would be chkdsk /f h:
However, seeing as it looks like the partition is screwed up, I doubt chkdsk will help. There are people familiar with recovering c200s, so it might be best if you popped onto IRC and asked.
sharkovich:
I tried it even when /f attribute. It doesnt work.
And since i am lame with IRC, what channel shoud i look on?
