iHP-140 Sound Problems Following Upgrade
« on: September 22, 2008, 11:51:26 AM »
I have recently installed build r18563 and am now experiencing awful sound when playing mp3 files via headphones or Line Out.  Sound is very quiet through the left channel but the right only produces an awful noise akin to a drill!

Playback via USB is perfect.

FLAC files are totally unaffected.

I have reverted to an earlier build but the problem persists, although uninstalling Rockbox and using iRiver's firmware resolves the problem.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Update to r18564. A patch was just submitted that fixes MP3 playback problems on Coldfire targets (e.g. the iriver H100, H300, and iAudio).

As a note, if you have done a normal install you do not need to uninstall rockbox to get to the iriver firmware - Rockbox will dual boot.  See the manual for details.
