ok, I realize that this is an unimportant and maybe obvious question, and it may even be answered somewhere else.  With that in mind feel free to answer this, and reply with numerous scathing and mocking remarks on my intelligence level without worrying about my feelings:

What do the "kudos" and "commits" specifically refer to on the signature of most developers and other upperclassmen types?

Ohloh widgets. These just measure contributions we've made to various open source projects, as well as praise given to us by fellow developers.

Why not look at Ohloh's site to find out more about how it works? To be really honest, questions like that are off-topic here.

I already gave you the link to Ohloh, so go check it out. In the meantime, I'm locking this thread, since it's technically an off-topic subject.
