e200r patcher help!!!

I have the sansa e250r and have downgraded my ver to 1.0.2.31 I have been using the guide here but seem to be stuck witht he patching part.
 I have vista 64 bit for os I try to reinstall the e200 manufac draver and then when I goto recovery mode and try to patch my e250r I get an error message saying "could not find any USB busses Perss enter to exit. Is there a way for me to manu the patch or am I doing somethig wrong? O also I tred the same thing on a xp machine and still the same prob. If somone would walk me through this I would be greatfull
