X5L freezes during rewinding

(1/1)

Perhydrolenator:
Hi

It is almost rule that my X5L freezes when I'm trying to rewind. I'm not sure but I think the freezing is associated with bigger file's size. Do you have any ideas what it could be?
greetings

Zardoz:
Are you using a recent version of rockbox? Do you have dircache enabled? Database loaded to RAM?

If you use it of course.

How far back do you have to rewind?  And is it easier to cause when the disk has just spun up to refill the buffer.  I am trying to get at if it is just a problem when you try to rewind back past what is buffered.  Rockbox shouldn't crash in this case, it should just reread the data from disk, and in my testing it works fine.  Still, I don't have an x5 and Zardoz's question about what version of Rockbox is a pertinent one.

Zardoz:
I used to have this same problem with my X5L. Rarely happens, if at all, on the ipod 80GB I have now so I figured it had something to do with available memory.

What file type?
