Sansa e260v1.02.18a + Adata 4gb sdhc - not recognized by XP or Ubuntu 8.04
(1/1)
phillo:
Rockbox version 18341- 080824 recognizes the Adata sdhc 4gb card, from Rockbox info:
"MSD: 3.81GB/3.81GB"
but Ubuntu won't mount it and XP doesn't register it at all, why not? BTW, the player is in MSC mode.
Anyone have success with this combo? I read in this forum or another that it worked out, but I'm not having luck. Any ideas?
AlexP:
The Sansa firmware does not support SDHC (anything over 2 GB) whereas Rockbox does, therefore whilst Rockbox recognises and can use the card correctly, you cannot use the Sansa firmware USB mode to transfer files to it.
You need to use a card reader, or copy the files to the internal memory then use Rockbox's cut and paste functionality to move them to the card from within Rockbox. Once Rockbox USB mode is enabled (when remaining kinks have been ironed out) you will be able to copy files to the card directly using Rockbox USB mode.
Please take a quick look at the Sansa FAQ (www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaFAQ) - it tells you this and other useful things.
