How *else* can I configure my backlight?

I knew about configuring the backlight...

Problem is, I wanted more control over it. For instance, I wanted to let the backlight last as long as I want to if I am using plugins and 10 seconds when listening to songs only.

Is this possible? Thanks!

Nope.

One workaround would to to create two cfg files to set the backlight as you want for the two situations, then run the appropriate one before either using plugins or listening to music.

could he not just modify the specific applications he needs with a new backlight setting?  Or maybe write a button command to exec the different configs?

Sure, he can do what he wants in the code.  I assumed he meant currently from within rockbox without editing the source code then compiling an edited build.

@pizza4me: I thought you cannot modify the plugins' codes? How much time do I need for this?
