no firmware detected (was: Help..please)

i unzipped rockbox into the root folder and also aued the rockbox utility ..but during installing its says no firmware detected what should i do..and also i cant find GBSYSTEM ..please help..!

Can you give us more details as to exactly you've done so far? Also, are you sure you have a Gigabeat F or X? What operating system?

i guess my issue is kinda related.

I was given a 'broken' x30 which had been formatted and had none of its original files/ folders etc.

Basically at the moment it is sitting there as a fat32 formatted external hard drive.

when it tries to start up in says 'no system found on hdd'  and has a code 00100060

i imagine that the reason Rockbox won't install is because it needs the original firmware to proceed.

what would be your recommendations?
