videos and photos hidden from player

i installed videos using winff about 3 days ago. they played fine. and this morning i turned on my player and rockbox doesn't see them.
I opened up my video file through windows explorer and there the are. Also my picture files seem to have become hidden as well.
Any ideas on what might have happened, is there a setting that may have been disabled?
Should I Uninstall / reinstall rockbox?

You've changed the "Show files" setting to one that doesn't include these formats.

Thank you for your help. that was exactly what happened. everything reappeared once I reset the view files to "show all". I wasn't even aware that it had been changed. thats what I get for playing around with settings I'm not familiar with.
Its good to have experts like you folks around to keep us newbies walking in a straight line.
