Custome SanDisk Sansa e200 RockBox interface.

(1/2) > >>

gamark:
I would like to use the RockBox firmware on SanDisk Sansa e200 players and I need changes done to the interface and the functionality of the firmware. Since I am not a developer I would like to hire specialists from this forum to do this work for me.

I can offer detailed software requirements and also user cases for the firmware to the person(s) who wants to take on this task.

Just a side note: I saw not other location where I can post this message and I hope I am not falling against the TOS of this forum.

I'd offer the requirements up first, so (if) anyone decides to take you up on it they know roughly the amount of work involved, and can give you an accurate quote for their effort. Further, you need to bear in mind that any code that is written will still be covered by the GPL - you will not "own" it.

Also - I'm not sure what you mean by "user cases for the firmware" ?

The "Feature Ideas" forum is the place to post suggestions.

gamark:
No problem with the GPL. I meant flow chart for the firmware. I have attached a simple flow chart to describe the functionality required.

A more detailed flow chart will be provided with error messages and all artwork. I have all artwork in place and licence for it. As you can see the functionality of the player is simplified. I do not need: FM tuner, voice recorder, mass storage, E-book, games, stopwatch, calculator and calendar, I just need the player function and the video function (in a limited way) plus a special menu 3 to select the song.

What do you think about the functionality?

Also I have one more question, the Rockbox firmware is not infringing against Sisvel license rights if used in commercial products? Do I have to buy this one sepparatly?

I don't know what Sisvel is, but if you mean software patents, that depends on local laws.  You will likely have to pay a royalty to distribute MPEG or Microsoft codecs in the USA for instance.
