Gigabeat S60 side button problem
« on: September 08, 2008, 04:34:48 PM »
I bought a used S60 and everything is perfect except for 2 side buttons, the play/pause button and the volume down button. There seems to be a short somewhere, causing them to be "pressed" simultaneously. What I mean is if I press either one, the payer recognizes it as both being pressed. At first I thought the buttons didn't work at all because I never tried the OF, but I tried the OF today and it recognized them as being pressed at the same time, it's just that rockbox doesn't seem to recognize more than 1 button pressed at the same time.

I'm just wondering if this could be a problem with the side button assembly or the mainboard before I start to look for a place to buy the side button assembly.

How about disassemble and re-connect button fpc cable?

Did that, didn't help.

EDIT: Now they're working sporadically, it's really random though so I'm guessing something is shorting on the case or connector.
