a few questions.
Watts:
I am just finding out about RB. I was interested in putting FLAC files on my 5th Gen 30GB iPod video because of the superior sound quality they offer. I did some searching and came across The Rock Box website and this forum. This is what I am looking for!
Sphere9 asked the main question I have... I was afraid of rendering my iPod useless! So even a newbie like me can't screw this up?
I realize I have a lot of reading to do, I just need a little reassuring!
That being said, is it fairly simple to revert back to the current Apple firmware, if I so choose?
I also use the iPod in the car using the headphone out into an AUX input in the car. Is this possible with RB?
Thanks
:D

What do you mean by, "it runs very slow"?

Yes. Moreover, you can dual-boot into the iPod firmware if you so choose after installing Rockbox. The manual explains how to do this.

Yes. You should set the volume on the iPod at 0 dB when you do this. (The maximum volume on the iPod is +6 dB, so you want to set it slightly below the maximum.)

Thanks. Now I have something to do tomorrow!

just scrolling through menus is very slow / unresponsive and often takes a few seconds to switch between them.
also it takes awhile to start up.
