Opting files out of the database
« on: September 06, 2008, 03:22:27 PM »
Hi,

I find the Database the most efficient way for playing all my songs on SHUFFLE
however I don't want Podcasts/audiobooks playing and interrupting the music, is there away to opt a directory or certain files out of the database, so everytime I reinitialise they don't get added.

Cheers

Create a blank text file, save it, and rename it to 'database.ignore' and place that file in whatever directories you wish to have ignored by the database.

Alternatively, there should be a database.ignore file in your .rockbox directory that you could just copy around to other folders, even from within Rockbox.

This is explained in the manual.  But there's also a database.unignore that you can use.  I keep a database.ignore in the root of my file tree and then "unignore" only the branches that contain the stuff I want cataloged in the database.
