Unresponsive touchpad

So it looks like this is a hardware issue more than a rockbox issue.  The touchpad buttons are either completely unresponsive, or completely chaotic.  Has anyone experience something similar and managed a fix, or do I just have a glorified external hard drive now?

What revision of Rockbox are you running, and what do you have the option for the touchpad sensitivity set at?

As should be expected, I have installed the latest build of rockbox, and in fact over the past few months where this has shown itself to be an issue have installed several of the latest builds at the time.

As the player is non-responsive or severely lagged to my inputs, I would have to manually set the touchpad sensitivity, and don't know in which config file to set value in.

"The latest" means different things to different people. Please actually say the revision number your copy of Rockbox reports.

Have you tried reverting to the original firmware to test if the touchpad works or not in it?
