ATA -80 error with CF card
riddleofsteel:
I think this means that the partition table is corrupt, rockbox won't load and gives me an ata -80 message. Do I have to format the CF card in a camera or something? I really didn't want to since it took a lot of effort to put the card in in the first place. Any other options? Thank you.
gevaerts:
You need a bootloader built from recent svn. The released bootloader doesn't handle CF properly
Spanky:
Yea, you need a custom bootloader and then you will need to apply a patch from the FlySpray in order to use the CF card properly in Rockbox. Otherwise without the patch, Rockbox will "spin-down" the CF card and that will render your iPod useless until you re-boot.
I could be wrong on this information, I'm just going on what I've read here about it.
Chronon:
I'm pretty sure the necessary code changes are in SVN, they just are not included in the version of the bootloader bundled with the current version of Ipodpatcher. You will need to build one from SVN, as gevaerts said.
slamma:
I had the same error.
Use the bootloader here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17062.0
