After following this project for a while (only in passing) I notice on the front page that it has been committed to svn.

Will there be a compiled version released?

If so, how do I access it?

Once it's finished enough for normal use, there will be ready-to-run downloads. It's not in that state yet though

I was under that impression until I saw it had been committed.

My mistake, I assumed that meant it was ready.

Llorean:
Being committed means "it's officially part of the project now", not any indication of readiness for use.
