Track running time
« on: August 29, 2008, 10:06:55 AM »
Have a 30gb iPod video. I use iTunes to put all the music on my iPod so when I first installed RB I got it to compile the database for me. When I search under album for some of the albums and not all, next to the track name the running time is also there next to it. What would cause this to happen? All the information about the album is compiled within iTunes (I know some people use specific software to create tags) but it's there for a small minority but not the rest. Has anyone else had this happen to them and maybe know what causes it?

The Rockbox database does that by default. Relax and enjoy the music. ;)

I finally noticed the pattern of which tracks didn't have the running time; any albums where I had the Disc 1 of 1 fields entered the track would show on my iPod as 1-01...., 1-02....... but with no running time next to it, so I removed that tag from each track and now the running time shows on all tracks. I wanted to be able to have it for all the tracks but up until now couldn't work out until now what was causing it to only appear with some of them.

Interesting.  I hadn't noticed that before.  I think that's probably a bug (since I can't think of a reason why we would want it to behave that way).  Click the "bugs" link and sign up for an account.  Then you can file a bug report for this.
