Archos Jukebox 8MB upgrade?

(1/1)

mcf57:
I recently surrected an Archos Jukebox 20 mp3 player/recorder and installed Rockbox on it (see other post). It works great with the new Rockbox interface & I love it. I saw how there was a Rockbox build for essentially the same model, but it is listed as "Archos Recorder 8MB"

What is this 8MB? What is the advantage of it? Is it something I can upgrade & do to my current standard Archos Jukebox? If so, how and/or where are directions telling me how to do so?

gevaerts:
It's a hardware mod. http://www.uwe-freese.de/hardware-projekte/rockbox/8mb_ram_en.html has more details.

LambdaCalculus:
There's one problem: getting the chip required for the mod.

A search on Google should bring up some places that will sell you the chip, but if I remember, some (or most?) of those places will only sell you the chip in bulk (meaning you have to buy a certain number of chips before they'll ship them).

aspartam:
I bought two Chips from Bruce
