vista rockbox freeze
(1/1)
riddleofsteel:
Just installed rockbox on my 2g mini ipod in vista 64. When I connect via usb the drive doesn't mount and I can't transfer songs. Then I try to unplug the ipod to discover that it has frozen and needs to be hard reset. This happens every time I try. Any idea what causes this? Thank you very much.
saratoga:
USB is disabled in rockbox for the Ipods, so you must use the Apple mode.
gevaerts:
It shouldn't freeze though. It's supposed to reboot into Disk Mode.
This is a known bug that happens with some builds and not with others. Can you try a different build? (e.g. the latest one)
riddleofsteel:
I got it to work by using the apple mode to put tracks on the ipod. Thank you. My next question is, what does rockbox use for a music folder structure? I made a folder called 'Music' on the ipod that appears as 'root' when I am running rockbox, and when I press select while 'root' is highlighted it plays all the songs from the beginning or where I left off, which isn't very organized. Thanks for your help.
Llorean:
Your music folder does not appear as "root." The file "root.m3u" probably exists on your device, which is a playlist of all files (in most cases).
Your music folder will still appear as music, wherever it's located on the device. Please see the Rockbox manual for basic use and navigation.
