I'm just trying to install the Rockbox firmware onto my sansa E250R.
the instructions aren't clear enough towards the end of step 1, were it methons to run the e200patcher.exe. Do I tell my computer to give the device the new driver before or after I run the patcher? And regardless when i do it before it says the wizard couldn't find a better driver, When i do it afterwords, the patcher say it doesn't recognizes a sansa e200r. ???

Chronon:
The order of the instructions seems pretty clear to me.  Update the driver first.  Then run e200rpatcher.

You can force Windows to use a specific driver if you choose "Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install."

Please use descriptive titles.

tr3166:
Okay, so I never really though too in dept about this process and never caught the "Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install.". Thanks ^^, I did that and the patcher caught the device finally. After completing step 2 I let the player boot and reboot. But now when I start up the player displayes, "Load main image failed switch to recovery mode".

So I did and now the computer doesn't have the 16Mb anymore, it's recunized as the e200 manufacturer device.

Okay I figured out how to change the driver back to mass storage and unbrick it, but I really want rockbox firmware, can you please help me?

advcomp2019:
Are you sure it is an e200R?

tr3166:
No the player is a Sansa e250R...

I just fixed the image so now it boots normally again, but I had to format, so Im anxious about getting Rockbox.
