Shuffling playlist but not other files

(1/1)

Hello:

Thanks for software, the forum and the other information provided on this site.

I've tried solving this problem myself, but no go.  I think it is probably very simple, and the fact that I have not figured it out should tell you how adept I am with these sorts of things. I have a few hundred songs on my Sansa e260.  In a separate folder, I have some audio book files. I created a playlist of all the music files. Each time I play the playlist, I would like the songs to shuffle.  I can accomplish this by turning on shuffle playback before listening to the playlist, but I have to remember to deactivate shuffle play before listening to books. (Listening to chapters out of order is a little hard to follow)

It seems there ought to be a better way.  Anyone know of one?

Thanks in advance.

Click and hold "Select" on the actual playlist file, and choose to "Insert Shuffled" the playlist when nothing is playing.

It will basically reshuffle and star the playlist.

Thanks for the reply.  I selected the playlist from playlists/view catalog.  There is no "insert shuffle" option.  The options in the menu are:

Playlist
Playlist Catalog
Rename
Cut
Copy
Delete
Open with...
Create Directory
Properties
Add to Shortcuts

Multiplex:
The option is in the sub menu under the Playlist option

jnesmith:
So it is.  Thanks to you both.
