Sansa c240 wont recognize internal memory
8sigma:
I just installed Rockbox on my Sansa c240 and it will play the micro SD card without any issues.
It will not recognize the internal music files. I go to initialize now, and it gives me the "Building database....417 found" Then I try to play them and it keeps showing the Building database. What does the 417 mean ? I have just 6 mp3 files loaded internally.
The Sansa software will play the internal memory, but Rockbox will not. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Chronon:
Does the database finish building with a wrong count or does it hang?
8sigma:
I tried it once again and it hangs at "Building database.....419 found" ???
Its agravating not to be able to access the 1gb of internal memory to go with my new 8gb sdhc card
Thanks for any help you can give to this problem ;)
Chronon:
Probably one (or more) of your files has metadata that's causing problems for Rockbox's metadata parser. You can try removing half of the files and see if the database initializes with either of them. Once you find which group of files contains the culprit you can again divide that in half. If you repeat this process you can find which file is causing problems within a few iterations. (It's called a binary search algorithm.)
You could also browse your music from the file browser. Set Show Files to "All" in order to see the hidden MUSIC folder.

I removed all 6 mp3 files that were loaded internally.
I did set show files to all when I first installed Rockbox, but still no success :'(
