old theme, new looks & license

A few things happened to end up making this changes to the arboxWidgets theme. First, I wanted to eliminate the “non-commercial” limitation from the theme’s license, but the original ipod video’s version uses some icons from iconarchive.com that require non-commercial licensing, so they had to be redone. Second, from the beginning I had in mind using something like the iphone widgets, but I didn’t want to use the iphone’s and I didn’t have enough graphics program skills to make my own (…they’re still limited, but GIMP helps). And finally, MrMEC’s great iPhoneLike theme gave me the final “push” to do it (although he agreed that I could use his icons, I ended up making my own, still the volume widget is pretty much based on his).

Besides the graphical changes, this new version has a bigger font, also a scrolling routine that minimizes simultaneous lines scrolling (which is kind of annoying IMO), and displays numerical values for volume, battery and replaygain.

I’m also finishing a 200x200 AA version that I hope to upload to the wiki soon.

the plug icon seems to move up a little bit

At some point I uploaded to the wiki an iPod video version that had this little bug, but now it is corrected, if you download the current file it should work fine.

I have been running the Gigabeat through its paces.  I like the addition of the amount of replaygain applied.  I tried switching Crossfade mode, replaygain modes, charging mode, playback mode and so far I don't notice any problems.  Nice work!

@ mophead740, I really want to update the sansa (and other ports) versions, the thing is those will take much more work for adapting the sizes, and since free time is shorter some times, it will take while...

Hey, excellent theme!

But does each icon really need a description underneath it? Just a suggestion, but I think it'd look a little less cluttered without it. Other than that, love it!

Some of the labels seem extraneous but others seem necessary, in my opinion.  The volume, replaygain and battery labels all provide extra information that is not presented in the widget itself (and that I would not want to lose).
