Broken Themes: non-functioning WPS
(1/1)
jackwarr:
Could someone speak some non-tech here? Why do all of my WPS screens look wrong now (they were working before I downloaded a more current build this week) and what can I do to fix it? I see posts like this:
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17507.0
but it really makes no sense to me what I'm supposed to be doing to fix this problem. Can someone proved a step-by-step fix? Should I just revert to an earlier build?
Llorean:
It's not a bug, so reverting to an earlier build just means you'll be stuck using that earlier build pretty much until someone else decides to fix those themes (or if they're improperly licensed and the author is gone, forever).
There is no "step by step" guide. Unfortunately if someone were to tell you the steps it'd basically be the same as them actually fixing the theme, in which case why not just fix it themselves, right?
If you want to fix a theme that hasn't been fixed, you're going to have to take a little time to familiarize yourself with the basics of WPS making.

Okay, now I see. If I understand you correctly, something in the code has changed and each WPS must be updated.
How will I know when each WPS is updated?
Llorean:
There's no easy way. Just check the page and see if the WPS description mentions being fixed, or use the page history links at the very bottom of the page to work back to when that WPS was last changed.

Thanks!
