Licensing for copyrighted fonts?

I am confused as to how copyrights work for copyrighted fonts. Can I convert a Windows font (which I legally own) to a Roxkbox format font and use it on my player for PERSONAL use? Or is that not allowed? I am not talking about uploading to this site. The font I specifically want to convert is Arial (unicode).

Depends on the actual license terms of that font. Generally speaking though, many countries have laws that would permit you this personal-use format change and override license terms.

I'm not a lawyer, but if it's for personal use, i don't see any legal problem with this at all.

Then again, with microsoft you never know.......

It has nothing to do with Microsoft, and everything to do with the copyright laws in your locality and what sort of provisions they make for format shifting.
