Gigabeat F40 issues

My Gigabeat has been acting up recently. I'm not sure if its from a software or hardware issue but here it goes. File browser is no longer showing all the files and folders in the Music folder when I navigate there. When I first start up the player and go there it says Dir Buffer Full. Its never done that before and I haven't added anything to it recently. Also, I can't update the Database. It freezes up the player every time, even in Auto Update. I was wondering if anyone else experiencing this, and if so is there a fix?

I haven't noticed anything like this on my F40.  The fact that the file browser is not showing all of the files that should be there makes me suspect some file system damage.  Try running a disk check utility to try to fix any problems (e.g. chkdsk /f on the drive letter for your Gigabeat).
