How I make fonts?

I saw here that to make font from .ttf I need to convert him to .bdf and then to .fnt.
Someone has a atool to convert ttf to bdf? I found a tool called ttf2bdf but I don't know use it.
And someone tell me here that in the site there a guide to create font. You can give me link?
