Given that you are making a 'theme', shouldn't the selector bar thematically reflect the colours used in the WPS screen itself?

been there, done that.

This one's all about the colorful bars (maybe I should just call it "bars"?) and the tension they create...

Angyman:
I would call it "BigBlock"... because of its massive bars

Cool, I think purple would work well.

--- Quote ---not quite. I didn't even know the texta brand up till now. and I won't use a brand's name for my theme.
--- End quote ---
Yeah I'd forgotten that.  I was reading up on other names for textas on Wikipedia and re-learned that it's a genericized brand name.

I was kind of just throwing the concept of fluorescent markers out there, basically I was thinking *something* to do with that.  I don't know how widespread this is (I don't think I've ever talked about fluorescent markers to anyone outside my family), but in my family we sometimes call them just "fluoros" for short.

soap:
I think the US English generic name is "Highlighter"

bascule:
...as is the British English name.

You could call the theme 'DayGlo', which although I think may have been a Trademark at some distant point in the past has been genericised into meaning anything very brightly coloured.

Whoah! it is still copyright, but their website matches your theme to a tee!
