Calling fonts inside a WPS
« on: August 18, 2008, 12:43:30 AM »
Hi, rather new to the boards, but have been lurking for some time.

Due to my need to have everything as customized as possible I began chopping up WPS files to mix what I liked from each ones.

I have a firm hold on what I'm doing, but my question I don't think has been answered anywhere.  This leads me to believe its not possible, but I must ask anyway.

Is it possible to call a different font inside a WPS than what you are using for the main screen?

My reason for this is because with the amount of information I like to be displayed on the WPS calls the need for a smaller font, which is fine.  But the main screen and options screens look much better and are far more functional with a larger font.  I have tried the "happy median" which is about 8pt which is default, but I find myself wanting more.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Officially the only answer to your question is that there is a user font and a system font. The user font is the one you chose and the system font is the one that shows up if you show the status bar in either the WPS or any browser type screens. Using either of these fonts is possible inside the WPS is when you define a viewport.
Code: [Select]
%V|x|y|[width]|[height]|[font]|[fgcolor]|[bgcolor]
0 is used in the font for the system font and 1 is user font.

However, there is an unofficial patch that is included in a number of builds that includes the ability to define additional user fonts and call them from within the existing viewport tags. Support and discussion of these builds and patches is reserved for the Unofficial Builds subforum. I don't know what player you use, but you can likely find a build that includes that patch for your target in the forum.

Thanks thats what I'm looking for I think. At least 1 other user font would be perfect.  I think I would prefer a patch opposed to another build completely to avoid any unnecessary imperial entanglements.  My player is an H120 for reference.  Ill go check out the unofficial build forums to see if anything is going to suit my needs.

Thanks again.

No problem. I hope you find what you need there, or at least something helpful.

If all else fails you should be able to compile your own build.
