theme idenetification
« on: August 19, 2008, 11:48:59 AM »
I have been using Rockbox on my Sansa e250 player for about 2 weeks and love it. I have all the themes installed too. While I like some of them, I tend to go back to the default (Cabbiev2).

There are some that I do like & I have kept on there for a day or two, but when I switch to try another one and don't like it, I forgot what I previously had on. Is there anywhere I can go within Rockbox that will tell me what theme I'm currently using? This way I can go back to it if I don't like the new choice. Right now, I'm pretty much limited to going back to the cabbiev2 theme since I know its the default.

There's no "nice" way, but you can check the configuration file /.rockbox/config.cfg with any text editor -- it will hold the currently used theme (along with all other settings that differ from the defaults).

can I check the configuration file within the player or do I have to have it hooked up to a PC and basically view the file on the drive letter that .rockbox is on?

You can open the file using the text viewer/editor in Rockbox.  Set your file view to Show All, find the files and use the context menu's Open With... feature.

there's another way that doesn't require you to change your settings:
Go to Settings / Manage Settings / Browse .cfg files. Hilight "config.cfg", then open the context menu and select "open with ..." and "viewer".
