Scrollwheel not working on 5th gen iPod in Rockbox only
« on: August 27, 2008, 07:00:32 PM »
After running into a problem where my iPod would play any songs, I decided to give RockBox a try. Ive done both the Automatic and Manual installs of the current and archived versions. It loads just fine, but the scroll wheel or select button doesnt work at all so I cant get past the main menu. The screen fades and the clock ticks up, so its not frozen. I CAN do a reboot (select+menu). If I let it boot into original firmware, the scroll wheel works fine, I just cant play songs....

Anyone run across this before?

Never seen this.  My uninformed stab in the dark is that it's a hardware problem.

What revision of Rockbox are you using?  You can see this on the startup screen when Rockbox boots.  If you're using an unsupported build, we can't really help you, you should try an official build.

The fact that the OF has stopped working correctly seems to indicate a more significant problem. You would be really lucky if Rockbox fixed an underlying problem that the OF could not handle...
